Five-a-side for over 50's

6 September 2013

New weekly session

Are you over 50 years of age? Would you like to get back into five-a-side football?

Oldham Athletic Community Trust, in partnership with Oldham Health Service and Oldham Community Leisure, is bringing a brand new session to Oldham, which is to be held at Saddleworth Pool and Leisure Centre on Monday's (6pm-7pm).

The session, named '50 Fives' is five-a-side for those who are 50 years of age or older. They are inclusive, with anyone welcome, however all players much complete a health form prior to playing. The projects emphasis is on fun and getting back into football. People are welcome to either turn up on their own or bring friends with them.

Martin Vose, Community Trust Participation Manager, said: "I'm very excited to bring this new session to Oldham through the partnership work with OCL and Oldham Health Service.

"We know that playing sport is a great way of socialising and keeping fit and hope this project can do both.

"The sessions will be informal and won't be run as a league which is highly competitive. Each week we will make new teams from those who attend the session."

The sessions kick off on Monday, September 2nd at a cost of £3.00 per week.
