Sheridan: “We Go Expecting A Tough Game.”

16 March 2017

Manager John Sheridan believes Saturday’s game against Peterborough United will be one of their toughest yet.

Sheridan takes his side to the ABAX stadium this weekend looking to continue the club’s recent good form.

Speaking about the game, Sheridan said: “It will be a tough game against one of the best footballing sides in the division.

“Peterborough are one of those teams when you allow them to play and dictate the way they want to play then they can be very effective.

“We go expecting a tough game but we are in good form ourselves so we go there with the intentions of winning the game.

"They will still feel they have a chance of the play offs. We go there with a game plan but we have to affect the game and have the confidence we will win it.”

With games coming thick and fast at the moment, the manager has hinted at changes ahead of the game.

“It will be a different game and it’s a nice pitch so if I need to freshen it up then I won’t be frightened of doing it,” Sheridan commented.

“Whatever formation or team I pick, it’s purely to win the game and Peterborough is that next game so that’s what I’ll be doing.

"We will see how Rob is. If he is fit, he will let me know, he knows his body better than me.

“If he’s fit, then he will play but if he’s not then I’ll have to make a change but I’m confident in whoever comes in to fill it.”

The fans are expected to travel in their numbers to the game and Sheridan believes they can make the difference.

“The fans are right behind us,” admitted Sheridan. “It was great support on Tuesday night and they are sticking with us all the way.

“We need them and with the way we are playing, we are giving ourselves a good chance of staying in the league."
