Latics Support Super Josh Charity

20 April 2017

Ahead of the game with local rivals Rochdale on Saturday, Oldham Athletic have shown their support to the Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour #SuperJosh Charity.

The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour #SuperJosh Charity was launched in August 2013 by Joshua Wilson and his mum Dawn Fidler after their 10-year journey living with a brain tumour and post surgery disabilities.

In 2004, when Josh was three and a half, he was diagnosed with a brain stem tumour. Life-saving surgery to remove the tumour left him with serious post-operative complications. Thrown in to a whole new world, Josh and Dawn wanted to do what they could to help other families living with childhood brain tumours and post-surgery disabilities.

From Christmas 2013 Dawn and Josh’s Dad Colin were  told seven times their son only had 48 hours to live.

Josh defied all odds, and turned 14 in August of 2014, but sadly died in November at the age of 14.

Now Josh's Mum Dawn, their family and all their amazing charity’s supporters continue to work in his legacy helping other families.

As a charity we help children who have or have had a brain tumour, providing their families with advice, support and financial solutions, with special focus on those who also have post-surgery disabilities as well as others along Josh's journey in his legacy

We help organisations and places along Josh’s Journey including hospitals, care centres, special schools and brain tumour awareness groups.

Public support is crucial to our help, we simply can’t help support our families without your donations.

You can donate to The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity by simply texting SJBT13 followed by £1, £2, £5 or £10 to 70070.
